Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce and display plural different pictures on one screen, by writing every one-screen components of picture signals of the TV picture in each of plural picture memory blocks and by reading them successively. CONSTITUTION:Four kinds of picture signal received by receiving circuits 2a-2d are converted to digital signals by A/D converters 4a-4d respectively, and every one-screen components of picture signals are written in each of picture memory blocks 1a-1d. Meanwhile, Blocks 1a-1d corresponding to divided parts on the screen where respective picture signal should be written are set by memory controllers 5a-5d and write controllers 6a-6d. Next, when these picture signal are read and displayed, the divided part on the screen where they should be displayed is set by read controller 9, controllers 5a-5d and memory switching circuit 10 on a basis of the clock signal from read clock generator 8. As a result, four kinds of picture are displayed as still pictures on one screen.
