Abstract
PURPOSE: To neutralize both regeneration waste liquids of both cationic and anionic exchange resins received in separate receiving tanks without producing any insoluble precipitate by instantaneously mixing both liquids to make them acidic then passing the same through granular active carbon to remove organic materials, thence adding an alkali thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The acidic waste liquid 1 discharged from the regeneration process of cationic exchanged resins and the basic waste liquid 2 discharged from the regeneration process of anionic exchange resins are received respectively separately into a receiving tank 3 and a receiving tank 4. Next, the respective waste liquids are taken out by using a pump 5 and a pump 6 and both waste liquids are instantaneously mixed by using an ejector 7 or the like to make the pH of the waste liquids after the mixing ≤3. Next, this mixed waste liquid is passed through a decarbonating tower 13 to remove free carbonic acids, after which it is passed through an adsorption tower 18 packed with granular active carbon 17 to adsorptively remove the organic materials contained. Next, the treated liquid having been removed of organic materials is mixed with an alkali 19 by using an ejector 7' to be reneutralized, thus the pH of the treated liquid is controlled to near the neutral at which it can be released.
