Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of treated waste water to be discharged by diluting specific waste water with water, aerating the diluted waste water, recycling part of the aerated water as diluent and treating the reminder to produce re-usable water.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water such as excreta, living waste, industrial waste having COD and BOD of many hundreds to hundreds of thousands of ppm is diluted with 10 to 20 volumes of inductrial water pre volume of waste water, when the waste water is aerated. The industrial water as the above diluent is used to recycle instead of part of treated water which is subjected to the final aeration and discharged. At the same time, the remaining treated water to be discharged is pre-treated with filter medium such as sand to reduce SS to below 1 ppm, and then passed through activated carbon layer or ultrafilter, and further desalted by means of a tubular or rod-type reverse osmotic device or an electro-dialysis apparatus using anion and cation exchange membranes to obtain re-usable water. The amount of the treatd waste water which is finally thrown away and make a bad impression on inhabitants, can be reduced to one-tenth to one-twentieth that of prior art.
