Abstract

1521219 Treating liquids with ozone EMERY INDUSTRIES Inc 13 Aug 1976 [18 Aug 1975] 33843/76 Heading CIC An aqueous liquid is treated with ozone by mixing a residual ozone-containing gas with the liquid under pressure and thereafter mixing the thus treated liquid with freshly generated ozone gas and returning the ozone remaining from this second treatment to provide the residual ozonecontaining gas. The liquid to be treated is preferably impure water. In a preferred embodiment, contaminated water from tank 10 enters an eductor 14 where it is mixed with residual ozone-containing gas from line 26, and is passed to tank 16. The water discharged from tank 16 enters eductor 20 where it is mixed with fresh ozone-containing gas from ozonator 28, and is passed to tank 22. The treated water is discharged from tank 22 via line.24 and the residual ozone-containing gas from tank 22 is recycled to eductor 14 via line 26.
