Abstract
PURPOSE: To accomplish excellent control on recirculation of exhaust gas, by effecting feedback control of the exhaust-gas recirculating rate such that the value of combustion speed or the like at a certain crank angle, calculated from the change of pressure in a combustion chamber, becomes equal to a reference value based on the operational condition of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: Outputs of a pressure sensor 10 for detecting the pressure in a combustion chamber and a crank angle sensor 11 for detecting the crank angle are given to an actual combustion speed calculating circuit 12, in which is calculated the combustion speed of mixture in the combustion chamber at a certain crank angle. Output of the calculating circuit 12 is then given via an averaging circuit 17 to a comparison circuit 15 of a control section 13, in which it is compared with an output signal of a standard combustion speed setting circuit 14 that is afforded with an engine-speed signal (a), signal (b) relating to the amount of intake air, and other correcting signals. A deviation output ΔE of the comparison circuit 15 is given to a valve driving circuit 16, and the vacuum is regulated by controlling a vacuum control valve 18 by the output of the valve driving circuit 16. Thus, the opening of an EGR valve 2 is controlled appropriately.
