Abstract
PURPOSE:To try the improvement of mass-productivity by consisting a thin plate specifically composing of martensite including Al, C, Fe as a magnetic recording recording substance wherein the time aging of magnetic characteristics is small and a variation in quality is reduced. CONSTITUTION:Al of 5-20, C of 0.5-3, and Fe of 35-94.5by weight % are weighed and combined and high-frequency induced dissolution and casting are applied under vacuum to make a mother alloy. Next, a thin plate of 1mm. thickness or less is made by high-speed quenching method by using the mother alloy. Solubilization treatment is done for the thin plate and then the thin plate is poured into oil for quenching and final tempering is performed to obtain a thin plate having martensite structure. In this way, a magnetic recording substance having high residual magnetic flux density and obtainable high output will be obtain and the time aging of magnetic characteristics is small. Furthermore, mass-productivity is high and a variation in quality will be reduced.
