Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a recording media of 1mm. thick or less permitting high output and high density record by making a cast mother alloy including Fe, Co, W, Cr, and C and containing the predetermined amounts of W, Cr, and C wherein the alloy is processed by hot rolling and solution-heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A thin alloy sheet of predetermined thickness is made by including Fe, Co, W, Cr and C and by fixing the contents of Co, W, Cr, and C to 10-40%, 1-10%, 4-10%, and 0.5-2.1% by weight respectively and the remaining part as Fe. The sheet is made by the above mentioned composition to form the constitution by martensite phase. In making the sheet of predetermined thickness, the above mentioned components are dissolved and casted by high-frequency heating or the like and hot rolling is applied to the casted mother alloy to make an thin alloy sheet of 1mm. thick or less. Next, a solution-heat treatment is applied to the sheet for predetermined hours at a predetermined temperature and a magnetizing process is done after quenching. And a high output and high coercive force recording media is easily prepared to be used for a magnetic tape or the like.
