Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the constitution of an alloy thin sheet of 1mm. thick or less by using Fe as a principal component and predetermined amounts of Ni and Cr in the component of a magnetic recording media wherein the recording media has high residual magnetism density and coercive force. CONSTITUTION:Fe, Ni, and Cr are contained as an essential component composing a magnetic recording media and the contents of Ni and Cr in the component are fixed to 8-22% and 6-25% by weight respectively and the remaining part is Fe. And the media is made as the alloy plate-shaped substance of gamma-alpha transformed magnet constitution to disperse and precipitate phase in alpha phase. After applying hot working to the plate-shaped substance, a solution process is done to make an alloy thin sheet of 1mm. thick or less. Furthermore, cold working is applied to the sheet to transform, the board which is almost gamma phase into alpha phase. And the sheet of 1mm. thick or less is made as the magnetic recording media suitable for high output and high density record to use as a magnetic tape or the like by reducing a variation in quality.
