Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the treatment time and to enhance the quality by a method wherein an internal vessel filled with a metal powder is embedded into an external vessel filled with pressure medium particles, and both vessels are preheated without being deaerated or closed, then hot press with static hydraulic pressure is applied.
CONSTITUTION: Under atmospheric or nitrogen gas atmosphere, a metal powder 2 is filled in an internal vessel 1, a lid 6 having a nozzle 5 is welded to it, the vessel 1 is inserted into an external vessel 4, pressure medium particles 3 are filled between both the vessels, and a lid 10 having a nozzle 9 is welded to the external vessel. With both nozzles 5, 9 open, both the vessels are preheated until inner gas is expanded, discharged, and diluted, then the nozzle 9 is sealed without subjecting to vacuum suction, and finally the vessels undergo hot pressing with static hydraulic pressure in a high-pressure high-temperature furnace. In this process, the internal vessel nozzle 5 is sealed, leaving a space to pass gas only. Also, during the preheating, a check valve is installed to the external vessel nozzle 9.
