Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent dirt of a transfer roll by means of transcription according to size, by making a transfer roller of a picture, which has been formed on the surface of an image formation body by changing, contact and separate in accordance with length of a material to be transferred, and also switching the charging width in accordance with width of the material to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:A toner picture is formed on the surface of an image formation body 10 by means of charging with a charger 11, and this toner picture is tranferred to a material to be transferred, by the transfer roller 14. The transfer roller contacts with the image formation body by detection of the tip of the material to be transferred, by the detection swtich 4. Width of the material to be transferred is detected by the width detection swtich 7, and in case of B4 size, it is conducted to a longer corona charging wire 16b of the charger 11. In case when width of the material to be transferred in a narrow A4 size, it is conducted to a shorter corona charging wire 16a of the charger 11, and it is charged in a state that the charging width is narrow, therefore dirt of the transfer roller 14, etc. except the picture width can be prevented.
