Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare a simple low-cost enzyme electrode not requiring a pump for supplying oxygen, etc. by providing negative and positive electrode parts holding an electrolytic-solution retaining part between them and engaging with each other, a fixed-enzyme film on one side of the electrode and a hydrophobic processing film on the other side of the electrode through the intermediary of a porous substrate. CONSTITUTION:The anode 21 of Pt or the like and the cathode 23 of Ag or the like are arranged, holding the electrolytic-solution retaining part 22 impregnated with electrolytic solution between them and engaging with each other, and are connected with lead wires 20a and 20b respectively. On one side of the above electrode part is provided the fixed-enzyme film 26 and on the other side thereof are formed the porous substrate 24 of Al2O3, etc. and the hydrophobic processing film 25 prepared by silicone rubber coating or other measure, sequentially. The enzyme electrode 33 thus prepared is put in a vessel for the liquid 34 to be measured, provided with a part 35 for supplying the liquid to be measured and a part 36 for discharging the liquid to be measured, and the concentration of the matrix in the liquid 34 to be measured is measured by a measuring apparatus having a power source 31 and an ammeter 32. Since resolved O2 in the liquid 34 permeates through the film 25 and is supplied into the enzyme electrode, the pump for supplying O2, etc. becomes unnecessary.
