Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an ozone electrode which precisely and rapidly measures the concentration in a solution, by placing a oxygen permeable film provided with an ozone decomposing layer on the contacting side of a liquid to be tested, in the opening of a supporting body in which an oxygen concentration detecting mechanism is provided.
CONSTITUTION: This ozone electrode uses a ozone decomposing layer 9 made of an oxygen permeable resin (such as silicone rubber, fluorine-contained polymer) 7 and an ozone decomposing agent (such as Pd, Pt) 8, which is provided on an oxygen transparent film (formed by silicone rubber, fluorine-contained polymer, etc.) 6. An ozone electrode is produced by providing the end opening of a cylindrical supporting body 2 with the above oxygen transparent film 6 through an O-ring so that an ozone decomposing layer 9 is on the side of a test liquid, mounting a cap with holes on the outter side, and providing inside the supporting body 2 an electrolyte 3 and an exygen concentration detecting mechanism (an exygen reducing pole 11 and the opposite pole 12) 4.
