Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a local oscillation signal over a wide range with a voltage controlling oscillator having a narrow range of oscillation frequency, by adding a dividing circuit having a variable ratio of division plus a low-pass filter to a PLL circuit utilizing a voltage controlling oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The signal fr' obtained by dividing the output of a stable reference oscillating circuit 10' is put into one side of a phase comparator 12'. A PLL circuit applies the signal fr' to the voltage controlling oscillator 13' having a narrow range of oscillation frequency via a low-pass filter 15', feeds the signal back to the comparator 12' via the programmable divider 14' having a variable dividing ratio of N' and then locking the signal after obtaining fv'=N'.fr'. Then the signal of a frequency f1'=fv'/M that is obtained through a division given by the dividing circuit 16 having a variable dividing ratio of M is extracted and then sent to the mixing circuit 2' via a low-pass filter 17 to eliminate the higher harmonic wave in the form of a local oscillation signal. In such way, a stable local oscillation signal that can receive a fine adjustment over a wide range can be obtained with a voltage control oscillating circuit having a narrow oscillation frequency.
