Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of irradiation light and obtain the toner image of good quality by adsorbing photoconductive magnetic toner particles on a conductive member surface having a magnet on back side, and transferring the same onto the surface of a transfer member. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 2 is provided on the back side of a grounded conductive substrate 1, and in the first process, photoconductive magnetic toner particles 3 are magnetically attracted onto the surface of the substrate 1, whereby a single layer of the toner particles 3 is formed. In the 2nd process, the particle layer is charged to + polarity with a charging charer 4 by moving the same in the direction of the arrow (a). In the 3rd process, the particle layer is irradiated with the light image so that the charge of the respective toner particles 3 forming the particle layer of the irraidated part is erased. In the 4th process, the surface of transfer paper 5 is closely contacted with the particle layer formed on the surface of the substrate 1, and the surface is uniformly charged to - polarity with a transfer charger 5, then the particles 3 holding the + polarity charge selectively transfer to the surface of the transfer paper 5 as shown by the arrow, thereby forming the toner image on the surface of the transfer paper 5.
