Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for holding recording paper still in a charging process and make contrast sharp and a conveying device simple by performing required charging and transferring by dividing a recording electrode to a full surface charging part and a latent image forming part. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode 23 consisting of a substrate 24, a conductor 26 and a photoconductor 27 are divided to a full surface charging part 23a and a latent image forming part 23b. A counter electrode 33 is provided in opposition to the electrode 23, and power sources 38, 42 of different polarities are connected between both electrodes. If with this constitution recording paper 32 moves in an X direction, it is exposed over the entire surface by irradiating light 28 in the charging part 23a, and positive carriers are produced in the photoconductor 27, thus the recording paper 32 charges uniformly to positive. Next, in the latent image forming part 23b, the paper is irradiated with image light 30 and the 1st latent image is formed in the conductor 27 by negative carriers. Thence, the image is transferred to recording paper 30, and the 2nd latent image 31 is formed. In this way, charging and transferring are accomplished by every one line. This results in increased potential difference between the image part and the nonimage part, hence sharpened contrast and since the recording paper does not stop still, the conveying device is simplified.
