The element 20 is made of transparent electro-optic crystal 12 like niobate lithium providing the cross finger electrode 13, and since saw tooth voltage from high frequency electric field generator 16 is fed to the electrode 13, the outgoing angle theta of the light of the element 20 is changed with the applied voltage and it is scanned 4 on the photo sensing drum 3. Since no mechanical part is provided, the device can be made samll, highly reliable and the cost low.
