Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the size small and the cost low, by the constitution that the laser light modulated according to the information can be scanned through electro-optic polarizer which is controlled with saw tooth high frequency voltage. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 2 from the laser device 1 is modulated at the modulator 5 according to the information signal from the controller 6 and it is incident to the electro-optic polarizer 20. The element 20 is made of transparent electro-optic crystal 12 like niobate lithium providing the cross finger electrode 13, and since saw tooth voltage from high frequency electric field generator 16 is fed to the electrode 13, the outgoing angle theta of the light of the element 20 is changed with the applied voltage and it is scanned 4 on the photo sensing drum 3. Since no mechanical part is provided, the device can be made samll, highly reliable and the cost low.
