Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the apparatus and lower its cost by converting semiconductor laser infrared light to visible light of a half wavelength by a non-linear type optical element and using this as a light source, in the electrophotographic recorder.
CONSTITUTION: Infrared beam from a semiconductor laser 1 such as GaAlAs is converted to a visible beam of a half wavelength by a non-linear type optical element 2 such as KDP. Only the visible light is fetched by a filter 3 and is modulated by a light modulator 4. At this time the synchronization of the time-serially input signal and the light scanner is taken. This light signal beam is focused onto a photoreceptor 8 by a collimate lens 5 and focusing lens 6. This light scans on the photoreceptor 8 by a galva scanner 7. A hard copy is obtained by using this photoreceptor. The use of the semiconductor laser for the light source enables the miniatrization and cost reduction of the apparatus.
