Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate a repair work in case of the breakage of a vacuum vessel while in use by a method wherein the vacuum vessel and the heat pipe are constituted so as to be separable.
CONSTITUTION: The inner and outer walls 1', 1 of a temperature keeping vessel 1a of a double wall construction, consisting of the cylindrical glass outer wall 1 and the glass inner wall 1' coated with a selectively absorbing film 7 on the outer surface thereof, are fusion bonded at a sealing part thereof to form an enclosed heat insulating space 5. This space 5 is brought into a vacuum condition by evacuating it. A heat radiating part 9 for the heat pipe 2 wherein a heat absorbing part 2a is inserted into the vessel 1a is inserted into and connected to a header tube 8. Further, liquid 11 such as silicon oil having a good heat conductivity is filled inbetween the heat absorbing part 2a and the inner wall 1'. A plug 12 sealing the opening 12a of the vessel 1a prevents the run-out of the liquid. The collector is attached so that the broken vessel is interchangeable with a new vessel in case of the breakage of the vessel 1a, therefore, the repair work while in use is facilitated.
