Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a compressor from abnormal rising of a discharge temperature by providing a serices of bypass passages connecting between a suction port and a compression chamber for operating the compressor as a small-displacement compressor without discharging all of sucked refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: A series of bypass passages 17, 21a, 22, and 16 is provided to connect between a suction port 15 and a compression chamber 19 so that the flow of refrigerant gas issued from the compression chamber 19 to the suction port 15 through these bypass passages by a differential pressure may be reduced or increased in proportion to the refrigerant pressure at the suction port 15. In this construction, when the pressure on the suction side of a compressor is lowered under a fixed level, the refrigerant in the compression stroke can be issued from the compression chamber 19 into the suction port 15. This construction permits to reduce the circulation of the refrigerant in a refrigerating cycle. Since the compressor can be driven as a small-displacement compressor, it is prevented from excessive lowering of pressure on the suction side and abnormal rising of the discharge temperature.
