Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable judgement of the rate of removal of a coating film without causing any error in judgement by projecting a visible light flux whose wavelength is within the range of 400-700mum on a surface to be measured and by measuring the rate of diffused reflection of the flux. CONSTITUTION:A visible light emitted from a light source 1 and having wavelength in the range of 400-700mum is applied on the surface of a coated steel plate 3 to be measured through a lens 2, the diffused beam of light reflected from the surface of the coated steel plate 3 is condensed through a beam-condensing lens 5 and transduced into photoelectric current by a photoreceptor 6, the current is measured by a galvanometer 7, and, according to the amplitude of the current, the rate of removal of the coating film is judged. On the occasion, the device is constituted so that the angle of the center line of the light flux from the light source 1 to the surface of the coated steel plate 3 to be measured is in the range of 45+ or -5 deg. and that the angle of the surface of the steel plate 3 to the center line of the photoreceptor 6 is in the range of 90+ or -10 deg..
