Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply black chrome plating efficiently to a large amount of the objects to be plated by pressing the objects to cathode by centrifugal forces and circulating a plating soln. between a plating tank and a cooler on the outside of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: Objects to be plated of a small size such as screws are charged through a feed port 41 into a plating tank. When a revolving frame 2 is revolved, the screws are pressed in the outside circumferential direction together with the plating soln. and the screws move upward along the inside surface of cathode 32. Since a constant voltage is being applied between the cathode 32 and anode 33 and between the cathode 32 and auxiliary anode 34, black chrome plating is applied on the screws. Further when the cathode 32 is rotated, the screws roll on the inside surface of the cathode 32 and the screws are black chrome plated uniformly over the entire surface. During this time, the plating soln. circulates between the tank and the cooler on the outside of the tank so that the cooled plating soln. is constantly supplied to inside the tank. Hence, the plating progresses at a nearly constant bath temp. and the beautiful black plating is applied.
