Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a good reusable phosphor, by a method wherein a recovered solid phophor is washed with a chelating agent or an org. acid before or after sintering treatment and, thereafter, washed with water.
CONSTITUTION: The phosphor to be recovered is collected as a solid suspension. Subsequently, the solid phosphor separated from said solid suspension by a centrifugal separator or the like is washed with a few persent solution of a chelating agent, for example, ethylenediamine-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid or an org. acid, for example, oxalic acid before or after sintering treatment and, further, subjected to water washing treatment to remove metal ions, especially, chromium ion by washing.
