Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically recover Rh from Rh-contg. waste water with high efficiency by adjusting the water to 12W13.5pH with alkali and subjecting an Rh compound deposited to solid-liq. separation.
CONSTITUTION: Ph-contg. waste water is adjusted to 12W13.5pH with alkali and aged usually for 2W3hr while being allowed to stand or for about several minW1hr while being agitated to deposit an Rh compound. This Rh deposit is then subjected to solid-liq. separation by filtration, centrifugal separation or other method, and it is recovered. The waste water includes process waste water usually acidified with phosphoric acid or the like and discharged when Rh is sparated and recovered from waste catalyst liquor from an industrial process using Rh as catalyst, and the Rh content is usually 2W300ppm and especially about 2W30ppm. As the alkali NH4OH, NaOH, Na2CO3 or the like is used. Waste alkali discharged from various processes may be used.
