Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the adequate positioning and attitude of a camera by providing one end of an image fiber, in parallel to a fiber for light transmission, near a nuclear fuel assembly so that the fiber can approach the assembly, and by observing it on the ground via the image fiber. CONSTITUTION:Over a fuel pool in which nuclear fuel assembly 8 is dipped, crane 6 which can run longitudinally and laterally is provided and its elevation part 10 is fitted with fiber attitude controller 16 which has fixation part 18 for holding image fiber 12 and light-transmitting fiber 14, observation parts of fibers 12 and 14, and movable part 20. Light-transmitting fiber 14 fitted to controller 16 receives light at its one end via lens 28 from ground light source 26 and lightens assembly 8. Thus, using image fiber 12 can shorten the focal length sufficiently and a sufficiently close observation of the assmbly surface is taken with precision.
