Abstract

An interchangeable optical connector comprising a first connector member 1 carrying a light source, preferably a diode, and a second member 2 which can be connected to the first, and carrying one or more optical fibres 20 serving to receive the light from the light source, as well as means for regulating the position of the light source with respect to the end of the fibre or fibres, wherein the first member has a reference surface against which is applied a surface corresponding to the second member, means being provided for regulating the distance between the source and the reference surface, together with means for regulating the distance between the end of the optical fibre or fibres and the reference surface, one of the members also having means for laterally regulating the alignment between source and fibre. <IMAGE>
