Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent blowing-through and to maintain a safety operation in low burden level or low burden-level blowing-down operation by adjusting air-blowing amount and furnace-top pressure at the time when the distance between the top layer of the melt-deposit zone and raw material burden level varies abnormally. CONSTITUTION:In the process of lowering the burden or raising the burden level, the shape of the melt-deposit zone is esitimated continuously, and when the top layer of the melt-deposit zone approaches the burden and results in a decreased amount of block-type burden just above the melt-deposit zone, an operation is performed to reduce the amount of blowing or to increase the furnace top pressure. In this process of operation, when the above distance becomes abnormally small, the furnace-top pressure is raised in advance, gas flow is suppressed, thereafter the amount of blow is decreased; in this manner, the above distance can be maintained at the specified value, and blowing-through and a large slip can be prevented. The decreased amount of air blow is properly at about 0.1Nm<3> per inside capacity; however, if there is a delay in lowering the top pressure, then, the decreased amount of air blow is preferably at about 0.15-0.20Nm<3>/min per inside capacity.
