Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the torque ripple of an induction machine by decreasing the current contributing to field generation in an inverter device independently controlling the current contributing to torque generation and that contributing to field generation in the induction machine. CONSTITUTION:The number of revolutions omegar of an induction machine 5 is detected by a detection device 6 to obtain reference current i1g* contributing to torque generation by a speed control circuit 7 after comparing with reference revolution omegar*. Field PHI supplied from a field arithmetic circuit 16 is compared with reference field PHI* to obtain reference current i1d* contributing to field generation by a field control circuit 8. Current reference vector i1* is obtained from both current references by an arithmetic circuit 12 to feed a signal INV deciding commutation timing of an inverter 4 from a commutation signal generating circuit 14. A field-weakening control circuit 17 decreases the field reference PHI* around the inverter operating frequency in which the number of natural vibrations of the induction machine 5 agrees with the torque ripple frequency.
