Abstract

Equivalent two-phase currents iMd, iMg are calculated by multipliers 61, 62 and applied to a converter 7, which changes the equivalent two-phase currents into a three-phase winding current command to drive the power converter (self-excited inverter) 2 to control mainly the driving current. Most of a current for a motor is supplied by the separately-excited inverter 3. Since the self-excited inverter 2 supplies almost only the reactive current, the power converter can be made compact.
