Abstract
PURPOSE:To operate a motor at a high power-factor at all times by a method wherein the phase difference of the voltage and the current coming from an inverter is detected, and the output voltage of the inverter is dropped and the exciting current is reduced when there exists a large phase difference and the power-factor of the motor is unsatisfactory. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage and current of the inverter 1 which drives the AC motor is inputted to a phase difference detector 5, and when the phase difference is 0 deg., a positive signal is outputted, zero signal is outputted at 90 deg., a negative signal is outputted at 180 deg., a set point is subtracted using a subtracting machine 7 after the output has passed through an absolute value arithmetic operation unit 6, then the output and a frequency command are multiplied and the result is used as the output voltage command for the inverter 1. Accordingly, when the load is light and the phase difference is large and the power-factor to the motor is unsatisfactory, exciting current is reduced and the improvement of the power-factor is contrived, and when the phase difference is large and a regenerative state is present, the output voltage can be increased again, thereby enabling to drive the motor at a high power-factor at all times.
