Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the operation of an AC electric motor vehicle in high power factor by automatically economizing the field of the motor after a thyristor converter for the armature current is fully conducted to become the maximum power factor.
CONSTITUTION: An amplifier 2 produces a deviation signal between a command value from an armature current instructing unit 1 and an armature current detected by a current detector 5 to a thyristor converter 3 for the armature current. A priority circuit 11 decices the priority between the signal inverted in polarity from the output of the amplifier 2 by a polarity inverter 12 and a command value from a field current instructingunit 6 and produces the priority. An amplfier 7 produces a deviation signal between the output from the priority circuit 11 and the field current detected by the current detector 10 to a thyristor converter 8 for the field current. Thus, it can operate the vehicle in high power factor without necessity of external means such as a phase advance capacitor or the like.
