Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance the power factor of an input power source at the time of driving a commutatorless motor, by a method wherein a load power factor is controlled in accordance with the regulation of an input AC power source voltage and a load current, and a field exciter is adapted to prevent a DC current from reaching or exceeding a predetermined value by a signal fed from a fundamental wave voltage circuit. CONSTITUTION:A fundamental wave voltage of a terminal voltage VM of the commutatorless motoer 16 detected by a detecting circuit 26 for the fundamental wave voltage is supplied to a controlling circuit 27 and a rectifier 29. A computing circuit 30 which is inputted with an output signal I of a speed controlling circuit 23 generates a power running/regeneration mode polarility signal D and the absolute value signal ¦I¦, then the signal ¦I¦ and a signal tauls corresponding to the regulation component of the input AC power source voltage and being fed from a comparison circuit 32 are added to each other by an adder 31, and the sum of the signals is fed into the beta controlling circuit 27. Accordingly, the load power factor angle in the power running/regeneration mode can be controlled freely by a beta controlling circuit 22 which controls the ignition phase of an inverter 15, and the regulation of the input AC power source voltage can be compensated, so that the terminal voltage VM and the input AC power source voltage VS can be equalized, enabling to enhance the power factor of the input power source.
