Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to perform a smooth electric-pneumatic switching by a method wherein a regenerative brake circuit is turned to "OFF" position after the motor current of the subject electric vehicle has been attenuated at the time of switching a electric brake to a pneumatic brake.
CONSTITUTION: If the voltage of a filter capacitor 6 exceeds the set point when a regenerative load is broken, a signal is outputted from a detector 3 and the rise of voltage of the filter capacitor 6 is suppressed by the turning-on of a thyristor 5. The output signal of the detector 3 is also applied to a brake-current-limiting-value- pattern generating circuit 15 and a brake current limiting pattern is throtted down. Then, a signal is outputted from a counter 16 after the lapse of a fixed time and switches 2 and 10 are turned to "OFF" position. Accordingly, the smooth electric- pneumatic switching can be performed without generation of a decrease in overall braking force when the regenerative brake is switched to the pneumatic brake.
