Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the converting speed with a reduction of power consumption and at the same time facilitate an easy LSI formation and its combined use at the mu side and the A side, by giving a combination only to the logic ICs in case the linear code is converted into the nonlinear code. CONSTITUTION:The 14 bits of linear codes are supplied to the terminals 41-54, and the bit of the terminal 41 is delivered to the terminal 55 in the form of a nonlinear code. The other bits are added 56 to the set constant 57. The higher 8 bits of the addition outputs are taken into the coding circuit 58, and the position of the highest-rank bit among the bits of value 1 is binary-coded with 3 bits. The output of the circuit 58 is delivered in the form of a nonlinear code as well as given to the selection circuit 59, and the 4 bits following the highest-rank bit of value 1 are taken out to be delivered in the form of the nonlinear codes. The circuits 58 and 59 are constituted by combining the logic ICs.
