Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a nonoffset type toner by allowing to contain low mol.wt. polyolefin in a polymer composition and using an inorg. dispersant which charges to polarity opposite to that of the polymer composition in water in performing suspension polymerization in water. CONSTITUTION:Low mol.wt. polyolefin is added to a polymerizable polymer such as styrene and the mixture is subjected to heat treatment. An anionic or cationic polymerizable monomer which charges the polymer composition to one polarity in water or a hardly-water-soluble amine, a coloring agent, a charge control agent, iron oxide powder, a polymerization initiator, etc. are added to this liquid, whereby the polymer composition is produced. The polymer composition is added to the dispersion of the dispersant, such as coloidal silica, which charges to the polarity opposite to that of the polymer composition in water, whereby suspension is polymerization accomplished. This yields the spherical particles in which the low mol.wt. polyolefin is contained in the form of finely ground particles.
