Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ignition energy in high energy by a method wherein a voltage generated in a primary coil of an ignition transformer is rectified to be made a dynamic current power source and a voltage generated in a secondary coil is made a main discharge voltage through a voltage doubler circuit. CONSTITUTION:Opening a point contact 6 causes currents to be supplied to charge a capacitor 10 from a battery through the primary coil 1 and a diode 8. Then, continuation of the point contact 6 causes the currents to be varied in the primary coil 1, high voltage pulses being produced in the secondary coil 2 and the capacitor 7 being charged in the circuit formed of the secondary coil 2, diodes 8, 9 and capacitor 7. When electromotive voltage polarities of the secondary coil 2 are inverted, a charging voltage is applied to the capacitor 7 and the voltage pressurized approximately twice is applied to a spark plug 11. At this time, an electric charge charged in the capacitor 10 is made a superposed voltage through the diode 9 and discharged from the spark plug 11.
