PURPOSE:A high power oscillating pulse is generated by a method wherein a silicon controlled rectifier element is connected in series with a primary winding on a saturable core reactor and a series circuit containing a diode and a coil is connected between terminals of a secondary winding. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 9 is charged with a high voltage source 1, and next by a silicon controlled rectifier 10 made conductive, an energy is stored at a capacitor 3 through a saturable core reactor 11. Next when the saturable core reactor 11 reaches a saturated region, the saturable core reactor 11 gets a short-circuited state, and charges stored in the capacitor 3 are transferred to a load 5 through a secondary winding of the saturable core reactor 11 and a damping register 3. And a reverse current is fed through a diode 12 and a coil 13.
