Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a transformer in which a conductive electrostatic shield sheet sandwiched between adjacent turns of a coil is constituted by an a composite sheet consisting of an insulating carrier sheet and a stripe-shaped thin conductive layer formed on the carrier sheet, so that the loss due to eddy current is eliminated to ensure a sufficiently high shielding against electrostatic charge between adjacent layers. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic shield conductive sheet has an insulating carrier sheet 5 made of polyester and having such a length that its both ends oppose to each other with a small gap therebetween when the sheet is wound round the primary coil of a transformer by one turn. A plurality of fine strips 6 of conductive film 6 are formed in a reed-screenlike manner on one side of the carrier sheet at small intervals in the breadthwise direction of the carrier sheet by vacuum evaporation of, for example, aluminum. These parallel fine strips of conductive films are connected together by a connecting strip 7 extending in the longitudinal direction of the carrier sheet at one breadthwise end of the carrier sheet. One end of the connecting strip 7 is extended to form an external lead 8 for grounding connection. In consequence, the generation of eddy current is eliminated to provided a sufficient electrostatic shield between adjacent turns of the coil.
