Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent erosion of a feed water controlling valve by a method wherein an electric motor-driven feed water pump is controlled in the number of rotation and discharge regulation is made by the control of the opening of a feed water controlling valve to keep the difference of pressure before and behind the feed water controlling valve in an intended range.
CONSTITUTION: A rotation number instruction Nc is equal to the rotation number instruction Nb based upon the difference of pressure before and behind the feed water controlling valve and as a system head falls, the number of rotation of the feed water pump falls. If the number of rotation of the feed water pump arrives at the lowest possible number of rotation established by a signal generator 20, the rotation number instruction Nc changes from Nb to Na and in the following low load range the number of rotation of the feed water pump is controlled in a constant value by this lowest possible number of rotation. That is to say, in a high load range the difference of pressure before and behind the feed water controlling valve is controlled in an intended pressure and occurrence of errosion can be prevented. On the other hand, in the throttling course also of the feed water controlling valve in a low load range the pump can be driven when the difference of pressure before and behind the valve does not exceed 20kg/cm2 and therefore a long term operation is possible.
