Abstract

When the engine is operated at a low speed, a high intake vacuum is developed in the inner space 4 of the cylinder 5 due to pressure loss by the restriction of a carburetor 2. Here, the automatic check valve 7 is designed to be opened by the intake vacuum developed in the cylinder for drawing air or lean mixture from air cleaner 1 directly into the cylinder in the manner of by-passing the carburetor 2.
