Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the deformation of a pallet frame, etc. and enhance the strength and quality of sintered ore by gathering hot exhaust air and feeding it to the final part of the pallet of a Dwight-Lloyd type sintering machine upward from the bottom when iron ore is sintered with the machine.
CONSTITUTION: When iron ore is sintered with a Dwight-Lloyd type sintering machine, a starting material layer is sintered and cooled by downward draft until the temp. of exhaust air rises to at least 140°C, and all or part of exhaust air in a sintering zone where the temp. of exhaust air is ≥60°C is gathered in main duct 9a and introduced into a starting material layer at the end of sintering or a sintered block layer from the bottom of the layer with booster 21 through main duct 9b, dampers D, ducts (d) and wind boxes B. The introduced air is recovered from the surface of the layer with hood 22 and fed to a starting material drying section and an initial sintering section with booster 23 to effectively recover and utilize the sensible heat. In addition, the deformation of the pallet frame, etc. due to superheating is prevented, the strength of sintered ore is enhanced, and the reduction powdering rate is lowered.
