Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable braking of the DC motor at the time of power source failure by operating separately exciting field winding and shunt field winding as series winding field at the time of power source failure and utilizing the field winding having large resistance value as regenerating braking resistor. CONSTITUTION:The contacts of contactors 5-8 are closed and the contacts of contactors 9, 10 are opended at the time of normal operation. The field winding 2 becomes separately exciting field to enable stable operation which is hardly affected by the load current as a separately exciting motor. When the power source is failed, the control power sources for the respective contactors fails. Accordingly, the contactors 5-8 are opened, while the contactors 8, 9 are closes, and the DC motor operated as the separetely exciting motor fails. Consequently, it operates as a series generator to absorb the generating electric power with the field winding 2 as a load resistance and to thus brake it.
