Abstract
In the case of DC-driven motors in the field of traction, for energy-saving reasons it is desirable to recover electrical energy when the vehicles are braking. In order to ensure both good driving operation and good braking operation, the braking resistor (R), the excitation winding (I) and the rotor winding (M) of a motor are arranged in mutually parallel load branches and are individually controlled by load-branch thyristors (Th1, Th2, Th5).
