Abstract

PURPOSE: In a control mechanism for an air compressor which is disposed on a vehicle, to suppress a drive of the air compressor in order to prevent it from generating noise, when the vehicle is in stoppage at a station, by providing said mechanism with the first pressure governor which is set at higher pressure level and the second pressure governor which is set at lowest pressure level allowable from safety standpoint.
CONSTITUTION: A control mechanism comprises a power source line 10, a compressor synchronous drive line 11, a compressor suppression drive line 12 and the second pressure governor 17 with its set pressure level being lower than that of the first pressure govenor 16. When a vehicle has stopped at a station, each door of the vehicle is opened and a switch 14 linked with the door is closed. Thus, an electric current is supplied to a relay 15 for actuating it so as to open a switch 18, and an electric circuit including the first governor 16 which controls a motor 19 of an air compressor is cut off. Therefore, the motor 19 of the air compressor can be controlled by the second governor 17. In the above-mentioned fashion, when the vehicle is in stoppage at a station, the drive of the air compressor is controlled, thereby eliminating noise generation.
