Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a transistor in a circuit from being destroyed, by allowing a relay contact to intervene between a power converter and a power inverter to ensure damping of a variable speed induction motor.
CONSTITUTION: During normal operation of an electric motor, No.1 contacts 71 and 72 are closed and No.2 contact 73 is opened, and power supply to an induction motor 6 is done from an AC power souce 1 through a power converter 2, a capacitor 3 and a power-inverting transistor device 4. In the case of emergency, a relay 7 is turned off by an emergency stop button 8, and the electric motor's power generation is damped with the No.1 contacts 71 and 72 are in OPEN position and the No.2 contact 73 is in CLOSE position. In this case, since the emergency stop button circuit does not pass through a semiconductor, its operation is highly reliable. And even in the case of occurrence of a trouble on the power converter control circuit, since this emergency stop button is on a separate system, it operates effectively, and it also effectively operates even at the time of suspension of power supply.
