Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the burning degree of contacts in an electromagnetic switch for the control device of the electric motor vehicle by closing the switch always when a chopper circuit is conducted after operating an electromagnetic switch operating circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 2 is energized or deenergized by conducting or interrupting the chopper circuit 3, and the revolving speed of the motor 2 is controlled by varying the current flow rate of the chopper circuit 3. If the driving condition of a semiconductor switch driving circuit 7 is satisfied only at the moment when the chopper circuit 3 is conducted, a thyristor 9d in an electromagnetic switch driving circuit 9 is fired, the operation of an on-off pulse oscillating circuit 5 is stopped at least when the switch 4 is opened by an on-off pulse stopping circuit 10, an arc firing circuit 6 is operated at the time of opening the switch 4, and a main current is bypassed through an inverter circuit of the chopper circuit 3. Accordingly, the switch 4 is opened without arc.
