Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly discharge drain and to prevent freezing occurring due to an excessive cooling, by arranging an auxiliary condenser tube bundle and a vent condenser tube bundle above a main condenser tube bundle coupling together an inlet header and an outlet header such that said bundles are superposed on each other.
CONSTITUTION: In a main condenser tube bundle is condensed 70W80 percent of steam fed from an inlet header 1 inclining against a horizontal plane, a large volume of drain equivalent to a saturation temperature of the steam being discharged to main drain discharge pipe 10 through a discharge branch pipe 7. Mixture gas of remaining steam and non-condensing gas in an outlet header 2 tilting against a level surface is heat-exchanged with air, whose temperature rises as a result of air passing through the main condenser tube bundle 4, while the mixture gas is passing through an auxiliary condenser tube bundle 5. As a result, most of the remaining steam is condensed, condensed water so produced gathering in two inlet headers 6A and 6B and flowing down to a discharge branch pipe 8. As described above, a large volume of drain approximately equal to a saturation temperature is discharged, and thus, an excessive cooling at said portion can be prevented.
