Abstract

PURPOSE: To construct substructure efficiently and safely by a method wherein precast concrete columns connecting through substructure and superstructure are set simultaneously with the casting of cast-in-place piles, and the ground is progressively excavated while spanning breast boards by use of the columns.
CONSTITUTION: For construction of substructure, vertical holes 1 are first excavated at predetermined locations along the periphry of a building including the substructure. Then a cast-in-place pile or consolidating concrete 2 is cast in each of the holes 1 to the level of the foundation of substructure. Before the concrete 2 is hardened, precast concrete main columns 3 and studs 4 are suspended in the holes 1, and main reinforcements 5 at the lower ends of the columns and studs are embedded in the concrete 2. The area surrounded by the columns 3 and studs 4 is excavated from the ground surface; each time the ground 8 is exposed, breast boards 7 are spanned to prevent collapse of earth, before further excavation. In connection with the columns 3 and studs 4, a floor spanning beam 9 for the first floor and a portion of the basement outside wall are cast, and a spanning beam 10 for the basement is constructed at a predetermined depth.
