Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a necessity of a pilot burner, simplify constitution and to improve the function of control and safety by a method wherein an exothermic thermo sensitive element is utilized both as an igniting heater and as a temperature sensor and the combustion is controlled so that the matter to be heated acquire a desired temperature.

CONSTITUTION: When a contact 58 is closed interlocking a gas cock, an exothermic thermo sensitive element 57 consisting of SiC is heated (about 1200°C) by making a high power current flow in it to be utilized as an ignition heater. Under the AND condition both of the signal from a temperature sensor 59, wherein the temperature of the matter to be heated is under the set temperature, and of the signal indicating that the element has a sufficient temperature, the level detection circuit E signalizes an open valve while under the failed AND condition it signalizes a closed valve. With the open valve signal the valve 55 is opened through a transformer 104, after sets the time of the timer circuit G the relay 94 opens the contacts 95, 96 to reduce the current of the element 57 and to lower its temperature down to about 950°C above the burning set temperature for using it as the temperature sensor.
