Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure ignition of a Schwank burner type gas stove, by providing a means for indicating that an electromotive force produced by a thermocouple adapted for opening a main burner valve of a safety device for preventing flame from going out spontaneously has reached a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: When a burner is ignited, a thermoelectromotive force is produced by a thermocouple 4. Here, since the thermal capacity of the thermocouple 4 is hign, the electromotive force is increased gradually from the time when a pilot flame is ignited. The electromotive force thus produced is amplified by an amplifier 9 and applied to a comparator 14. When the electromotive force is increased to a value capable of holding a safety valve for a main burner valve in its opened state, an output of an operational amplifier 15 of the comparator 14 is inverted to a plus level and lights an indicating light emitting diode 21. Therefore, if a cock turning knob is held in its igniting position continuously until it is confirmed that the diode 21 is lighted, the burner can be ignited in a reliable manner.
