Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve safety and simplify the whole constitution by a method wherein, depending on whether the temperature of an exothermic thermo sensitive element is lower or higher than the combustion set temperature, the exothermic thermo sensitive element changes either into an ignition heater or a temperature sensor to close or open a valve.
CONSTITUTION: When an interlocking switch is set ON opening a gas cock 54, a control circuit 60 is connected with a power source and a high power current flows in an exothermic thermo sensitive element self-igniting it up to about 1200°C, an electromagnetic valve 55 is opened to supply a burner 51 with gas igniting the burner 51. Thereafter at the time-up of a charged capacitor 109, the exothermic thermo sensitive element 57 stops self-heating to become a heat sensor. And when the burner 51 goes out, the temperature lowers and the exothermic thermo senstitve element 57 increases its resistance value. Consquently a comparator 91 keeps ON and responding thereto an electromagnetic control valve 55 is opened to stop gas supply to the burner 51 and hold a relay excited keeping the relay contacts 95, 96 open and the element 57 is latched.
